Default Repeat quests

I would like it if after you have finished the chapter that you can go back and pick up old quests again. They will no longer give you rewards at the end, just cause the appropriate mobs and npcs to spawn for you. I would love to go back and read all the little stories and comments that go along with them and chase down baddies but I want to do it again with my favorite characters. I dont want to start a new one just to have 1 more shot at it and as there are less people in earlier campains you cant even just tag along to help anymore.

Although you would like to repeat quests for no reward, I highly doubt more than a handfull of people would. If they did add this, most people would just call it pointless and a waste of time. If you really want to read the dialogue, I'm sure you could find it online somewhere. And with the specific mob spawns, I'm sure someone would find a quest with good drops which would start another boring farm craze.

Im not sure you get the point that some of us (and Im sure its more than a handful) think completing these quests is fun and not just a means to an end . Quests at least give some sort of story driven reason for heading out into the wild. Playing games IS a waste of time to begin with but it IS fun. So this is a matter of providing task based fun for those who want to do this. We cant expect infinite quests to be made for us so let the ones who want to redo quests with their old favorite characters have that option.

As for another 'boring farm craze', no one forces you to participate in it. After a while that is all PvE'ers have to amuse themselves with while waiting for new chapters.

Or if people really need a cash incentive, maybe a reduced gold reward. I would think most that are repeating old quests are doing it for the fun and not the money anyhow.

I see what you're saying, but when people want to redo the storyline for fun they make new characters rather than just doing it again with no reward.... And don't even start with that tired old line of "even if everyone else is farming it you don't have to so don't complain". All the corny little get rich quick schemes cheapen the caliber of gameplay and lessen the prestige of achievements.

Maybe you'd enjoy making a new character?

Think of it this way, its like rewatching your favorite part of a movie and not having to sit through the first [insert random amount]. I like the dancing mushrooms in Fantasia but I sure as heck am not sitting though everything before it to get to that point, just like I am not going to start a new character (which to even do so would mean buying more slots since I like my current characters and am not deleting them) just to repeat a favorite quest that I enjoyed later in the chapter.

I dont see how others wealth affects your gameplay and farming=drops which is pure luck and not a prestegious achievement. That said, being able to go back and do quests you enjoyed with a character that has finished the game and who you enjoy playing is the purpose of this thread, not whining about farming.

I just take screenshots of all dialogue and organize it into files with the quest name then sort them by campaign and area.

I can go read the dialogue anytime I want to, or you can go get it from some of the sites.

Which quests are you most interested in repeating? You could always help some other players going through their first time or with additional characters. You aren't looking for the rewards, and you don't want to farm the quests, so just help other players.

I must have not made this clear enough. It is not the same as just re-reading the texts later it is the matter of going out and reliving the experience with your favorite character that you have spent hundreds even thousands of hours on and are quite enjoy playing.

As chapters get older there are less people out there wanting to do the quests even so its not like you can just head out and find someone doing the one you feel like repeating at that moment.

I will also point out that if we could pick up old quests again after completing the game it could make it a lot easier for going back and helping people through quests you completed a long time ago. Spots would appear on your map again and you would have the quest dialog to explain things.

Personally I think it would be fun to see if I can solo/dual/trio quests now that I am a much more seasoned player. Can my monk solo Undead Hordes with this build? With that one? Can my Ranger do it? How many can I take on at once (quests are great for getting mobs). Its a way to test the limits of what you can do.
